I already have a warranty on most of my home appliances and systems. Why do I need a membership with Cocoon?
A ‘home warranty’ is an industry term. It typically refers to a service plan that provides the planholder (i.e. homeowner) with access to appliance and home system (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) repair service while covering repair and replacement costs, subject to plan terms. Cocoon provides such coverage under its Care & Cover plan. But Cocoon goes beyond that. We provide you with concierge level service, maintenance services, home care reminders, online troubleshooting, and more. So while we are there for you when things go wrong, we help you keep them from going wrong in the first place.
What is the difference between Cocoon’s plan and home insurance? Will I get a better rate with my carrier?
Home insurance typically covers you for risks like fires, natural disasters, theft and liabilities. These things may or may not happen. Cocoon’s plans offer you both assistance and coverage for wear and tear and breakdown of items in your home that will happen.
I have an emergency! How quickly will I get a service pro to my home?
We work closely with our Cocoon Service Pros to prioritize emergencies to your home as quickly as possible. You can rest assured, we treat your emergency like it was our own. On weekdays we’ll have a Cocoon Service Pro engaged with you within 4 hours during business hours. We do all we can to get your emergency resolved asap and we’ll be there for you from beginning until resolution.
What is the average cost for requesting service from Cocoon? Do I get a discount?
Yes, as a Cocoon member, you will get up to 20% off all service and maintenance requests from our carefully-vetted and highly-experienced service pros.
Will I be charged any other extra fee once I have my appliance/home system serviced?
Other than the labor fee for a service pro to come to your home, there are no other fees that you have to incur. In some cases, you may need to pay for the costs associated with replacing parts and materials.
